Firefighters risk their lives every time they enter a burning building or man the front lines of a wildfire. Long after the fires are extinguished, though, they face another deadly threat.
The Utah Firefighter Cancer Initiative exists for one reason: to save the lives of Utah’s firefighters and ensure as many of them as possible remain on the job, then go on to live full, healthy lives well into retirement.
Fortunately, we aren’t doing it alone. The Utah Legislature provided us funding to screen approximately 500 firefighters for cancer annually through 2028, and donors that share a passion for our purpose have also rallied behind our cause.
Our gratitude is immense. But we need further support to accomplish the full scope of our mission — most importantly expanding our screenings, including providing the opportunity to retired firefighters.
That’s where you come in. Your donation helps us grow our screening program and make an even larger impact. Every dollar puts us closer to screening an additional firefighter. Every additional screening may save a life.
Donate today. Help protect the heroes who protect us all.

Donations will be administered through the Salt Lake Valley Fire Alliance, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, and will be used solely for the Utah Firefighter Cancer Initiative.
